robes many of you have asked us to produce them for you here is one we
just finished. It sold to a gallery in Cave Creek Arizona (Spurcross
Gallery).

This is a reproduction of a Cheyenne Shield (circa 1860). This shield is formed using a method that is over a thousand years old. The hide is heat shrunk over an open hole filled with hot stones. The end result is a shield that is about 1/4 inch thick and hard. This shield also has hand painted eagle feathers, red & blue trade cloth, brain-tan leather, hawk bells and is painted with earth pigments which are hand ground minerals. the price on this piece is $500.00 |

Cheyenne Parfleche (circa
1850) This is an envelope parfleche it is called this because of the way it's
folded. Parfleches were used to store many items from food to feathers.
This parfleche is made out of Buffalo raw-hide, earth pigments and

Crow "lance case" (circa 1880) Lance cases were actually effigy's of lance's they were never intended to hold anything. Women customarily carried their husbands armaments and shield during reservation period parades in which the Crow emulated the moving camp. The heavily decorated lance case is part of an equestrian woman's regalia, mounted on the saddle so that the triangular head angles back behind the rider. $795.00 |

BUFFALO HIDE
TIPIS are precisely constructed using the techniques of the Plains Indians. The
year 1879 was the last time a buffalo hide tipi was made until Larry
researched and made one in 1976, almost a century later. Generally it
takes 6 mouths to make a lodge of sinew sewn hand tanned bison. It can be
constructed in the style of any plains tribe.

Buffalo Product's:
Brain-tanned buffalo robes have plush winter wool . These are skinned in
the historic Indian method to produce a symetrical shape. The
"square" shape fits nicely on beds, floors, or as a wearing
blanket. The old skinning technique utilized more of the hide than today's
method, resulting in a greater size.
